Got on the water about 8 for my fourth day of fishing this week some 5 weeks after hip surgery.
I saw my surgeon Thursday and he asked what I had been doing since I had progressed beyond his expectations.
I told him I had been fishing for 3 of the last 5 days. I said I don’t think I would have released you to fish that soon.
That is why I did not ask!
Beautiful day on the lake. 6 feet high. Thought I would get them in the buck brush. 2 was it. Tried some deep off points and another place or two. Water was warm 74. Found a ton of shad in one cove with nothing hitting them. Frogs sounding off made me through it in some shady weeds. NADA. Friday fun folks start hitting the lake, not many but a few. Camp grounds near water were flooded some.
I headed to Burnt Cabin Marina and grabbed the catfish tacos and a top shelf margarita. Mucho Bueno! I highly recommend them. It is the best floating cafe I have found in Oklahoma.
