    Question Trailer brake line repair

Hi, I had the brake line on my EZ Loader trailer get ripped off on the driver side and am having a hellava time getting the brake line off. I got the fitting from the caliper off very easily however am having no luck getting the fitting off where the line connects to the brake line T without looking like it will break the line. It appears there is some kind paint or sealant on the nut and line. Any advice on how to remove it without destroying things would be appreciated. TIA

Update: Finally got the fitting off. EZ Loader covered the fittings with an epoxy paint for corrosion protection. Once I burned off the epoxy the fitting easily came off. Thanks for all the advise.

That's tough, imagine that's a brass fitting and easy to break. Try some penetrating oil and maybe a wires brush to clean it up. To replace you can find flexible line in premade lengths. What if you left that fitting alone and went to the next one down the run. Can you take that one apart?

Have tried the penetrating oil and that fitting is the next one, it connects to the main line via the brake line T. Will try to clean it up. Thanks

I think you could cut it off and replace with a flare/ compression fitting ?

I was thinking about that as a last resort.

Got a buddy that put all new brake line on his Ranger trailer last summer. He got a kit, I think somewhere. I'll see where and what he got. Brakes do use flair fittings.

Get a cheep flair kit. Or auto parts store and use for free. And get the flex line, just bend with your hand.

Shadow Trailers out of Lake Havasu has everything you need. They have a great online store. And if you call them they might be able to give you some advice on the repair.
