    Prop Suggestions

    Current setup:

    Legend Alpha 199
    10" Plate
    Mercury 4S 225L 2B788583
Fury 3 25p all PVS plugged
    Prop to pad: 2.75"
    RPM WOT: 5900
MPH WOT: 72 loaded, 74 light
    PSI: 25

tried moving to 24p to increase RPM but actually lost some revs (5825) and speed (70)
curious if there is a different line of prop that guys are having success turning on these 4 stroke motors
all the local guys i know that have them are under revving, similar to me... trophy?

would a 23p be expected any improvement if 24p is already going the wrong direction?

25 Tempest should be good on that setup

That doesn’t add up. 24 should soon 150-200 rpms more than the 25. I’d try to find another 24 or have yours worked

    different 24p fury3 same result, relative with 250 4s and a 26p fury3 went to 25p, same result

will still try to acquire a 23p to test, was just looking other options as well, 25 tempest may be attainable

Try dropping the motor 1/2 in and report back, Preferably with a 23 on it. The smart rev limiter may be holding you back, Also have a merch dealer verfy full throttle is being obtained. I am assuming this is one of the the new 4 strokes
These motors can detect excessive prop slip and reduce top rpm, such as when motor is mounted to high

If the smart rev limiter is holding back a 25" fury what do you think it's going to do with a 23" prop that has to turn 300-400 more rpm's to get the speed he has now.

74 mph at 6150-6200 maybe a touch more if the motor is to high as I expect it is

Did you miss the point that he dropped to a 24 and rpm went down, very possible rev limiter is cutting it back do to motor to high
That boat and motor combo will not likely get 6200 with a 24 Fury. Should get over 6 with a 23 set up right

Ok fellas different day (much warmer) different water (current) but most of the day was spent with the current set which was very obviously wrong, bogged and blew out and rode like nose down, guzzling gas and no speed. (25p 2.75” ptp, full minus live well, 5700 wot, 68 mph, 25 psi). Speed decreased to 64 after livewell filling.

did empty live well and with quarter gas hole shot improved but some left to be gained, sped up to 68 and rpm remained 5700.

after tournament immediately dropped jack plate 3/4” to 3.5” ptp, hole shot basically perfect, ride level, speed increased. Immediately swapped to 23p and rpm increased, literally no other change in performance.

    Fury 3 25p plugged
    3.5” ptp
2 men, tackle, empty live well, low gas
    5700 wot
    71 mph
    23 psi
    21.6 gal/h wot

    Fury 3 23p plugged
    3.5” ptp
2 men, tackle, empty live well, low gas
    5860 wot
    71 mph
    22 psi
    21.5 gal/hr wot

thinking I could lower a tad more and perhaps see performance gain with the increased bow lift but I’m more of a mind that fury is just not the prop for this set.

IN the end I think you ultimately find this as mostly a motor issue, unless the boat hull has issues such as hooks in the pad

What sort of motor issue, a setup or a problem?

A dealer will need to review the data from the PCM and verify that it is reaching full throttle, data may indicate faults that put it into guardian mode limiting RPM.
Fuel volume and pressure tests, Coil output test and plug inspections are in order as well for starters
Please add the serial number for your motor to your first post
