    150 on 20.01 champion

Looking at a champion 201 with a 2yr old merc 4 stroke 150hp. Worried that it’ll b under powered. At least that’s what some people telling me. Anybody running that setup already?

It’s certainly not going to impress anyone. Probably a low 50’s setup.

A nice 201 with nearly new four stroke , regardless of HP, will make a nice fishing boat. It’s definitely underpowered but if you’re not that concerned with speed it can be a nice setup, especially if it’s priced right.

Other option I have is putting that 4 stroke on a charger 185v. That boat is a foot shorter than the champ but is 1” wider. What u boys think of that?

Up to you pards, that charger isn't going to be much faster than a 201.
What kind of water do you fish? The 201 is the best ride ever, by anyone.

Let me ask then a champ 184 is only 50 pounds lighter than the 201. What kind of speed do you think can be gotten from the 184 hull with the 150hp

I can usually squeeze 62ish out of a 184/150. Mid fifties is about it on a 201/150.
