I'm helping a friend who needs to get his son his first set of fly fishing equipment. I know nothing about fly fishing- is there anywhere else other than BPS in the SE WI or NE IL area that would give good advice. He would rather give the business an independent.
There’s great fly shops in the Driftless area, like Viroqua, but that may be farther than you want to go.
I’m not aware of others in IL, it’s just not a trout state.
