    Fly fisihng tackle

I'm helping a friend who needs to get his son his first set of fly fishing equipment. I know nothing about fly fishing- is there anywhere else other than BPS in the SE WI or NE IL area that would give good advice. He would rather give the business an independent.

Driftless Angler is a great shop with a lot of knowledge. I dont fly fish but have purchased a few things from them for small river wade fishing for bass. They are in Viroqua WI.

The shops above are good fly shops and I also would highly recommend Tight Lines Fly fishing Co in De Pere Wi. https://tightlinesflyshop.com/

In Illinois I would highly recommend Chicago fly fishing outfitters https://chifly.com/
and Dupage fly fishing co https://www.dupagefly.com/

Since you're in Waukesha you might want to try the Orvis in Bay Shore, the Clearwater outfits are very good starter sets. The 2 shops that Goby listed are excellent but not real convenient for you, also Coren's on the Northwest side of the city is good but more for building and reel repair.

Second vote for Clearwater Outfit from Orvis.
Just got it as my grandson’s upgrade from the cabela’s starter kit for his 16 birthday. That and a new Lew’s bait caster will keep him happy for a while.

I agree for the money the clearwater is a good starter outfit and orvis has really good warranty's on their gear.
