    Jackplate height

I saw some older posts about setting the motor over the transom "x" inches (5 1/2" over the transom). Where on the motor do you measure to? How does this translate to the prop to pad height?

You can't measure that way to get Prop to Pad height due to various engines and boat hull variations etc. You have to level your boat while on the trailer, getting the pad level to the ground (concrete garage floor for example), then trim your motor down so that the prop shaft is also level with the ground, then measure the difference between the pad to the center of the prop shaft. That will be your PTP measurement. Then you can adjust your jack plate up and down to test the performance at various PTP measurements.
