2000 19Ss Extreme max motor weight

I'm looking into a new motor for my 2000 19 SS Extreme. The boat is rated for 200 hp (currently has a Johnson 175). I'm moving toward a 4 stroke, but I'm concerned about the weight over a 2 stroke. Does anyone know the max transom weight these boats can take? Internet search came up blank and the only "owners manual" I found is little more than a bunch of useless legal disclaimers with no real data.

I don't think the engine weight would be that big a deal unless you also want to run power poles and a 36 V trolling motor. All of that combined could affect overall boat performance.

2000 Johnson 175 only weighs 370 pounds. Mercury Pro XS is 470 for the 175hp. Step up to the 200 is 505 pounds but so is the 225, 250 and 300hp 505 pounds

Thanks for all the replies guys. A little more research I found a lot of these came with the optional 200hp engine, which was the Evinrude FICHT 200hp, a near 500lb motor from what i can find. Not too far off the weight of most modern 4-strokes, within 10-20 lbs, probably about the weight of the 2 cycle VRO oil tank I will be able to get rid of. I'm feeling better about this, unless I'm missing something.

i think if you go with a merc at 505 you are fine the sho at almost 600 is a bit much but would work. my 20ss has a ficht and all is good-- merc sells a v6 200 hp also in the 4 stroke line but only 30 lbs lighter or so

For what its worth - I have a 1999 Stratos 21SS and I just put a 2018 225 SHO on it. The back end does sit a little lower but I haven't experienced any issues. I don't think I would want to add power poles. Before the SHO I had the Evinrude 225 Ficht.

I wish. 1999 Stratos 21SS is rated for a max HP of 245 HP. The couple of dealers I inquired with wouldn’t install a 250.
