    Shad Rap experts.....step inside.

    Ok, I am ordering some. what size is best? 7,8,9?
    You should know that in bee tending if you don't shut your trap the bees will get out.

    I like #5 late winter, early spring. After that, I don't throw them, but they are deadly for a short time early in the year.

    5-7-9 with 7 being most productive for me.

    They work well for locating bass by trolling if your engine will go 3 mph or less.

    These are the sizes I would go with too. If you know what you’re doing, you can throw the 7 and 9 on a baitcaster. 5’s are better thrown on a spinning reel, in my opinion.

    I can cast a SR5 on a bait caster UNLESS I am casting into the wind. Windy and a spinning reel hands down.

    #5 on a spinning rod parallel to bluffs and 45* rocky banks in a highland reservoir is hard to beat in the winter and early spring

    I fish a #5 in the Winter but I add one Suspen-dot just forward of the front treble. In water over 40 degrees retrieve it slow as you can and I mean slow. That includes stop. If you feel anything, set the hook.

    Lol, I actually have two sets of #5 shad raps. One set is straight out of the package and the other set are my "specials".

    Best in the mid to upper 50s water temp here, then Risto raps #5 lower than 50 degrees.
