I live about an hour from Yatesville and Grayson I fish those lakes regularly but If I was to make a trip later in the year what is the best lake to go to, Cumberland, Dale Hollow, Nolin, Green, or any other suggestions?

What month? Dale hollow has really showed out recently. But it can be tough in the summer. Kentucky and barkley are coming back. Barren used to be awesome but I’ve heard it’s fallen off.

Literally the worst months to fish out of the year. October can be decent on kentucky with a good topwater bite but it also can be excruciating.Originally Posted by bassfisher444

If it was me, I'd look to do a float trip on one of the streams/rivers for smallies. They are generally the easier to catch in Sept/Oct versus lake fish.

agreed its got so bad here december, January, february are about the only months the drunks, jet skis, and wake boats aren't out

I would definitely recommend heading North... Lake Erie or St. Clair would be tops on my list.

Pickwick or Guntersville are still both good lakes if you want to go a little farther!
