    Spinning out

I've never had a boat feel like its going to spin out while turning but my current boat feels that way even if I trim down and slow down. It also feels like the boat turns super easily compared to the boats I had in the past. Could it be my Motor is setup to high on my manual jackplate?

Check your Prop To Pad measurement. It should be around 3 1/2 to 3 3/4". Sounds like your JP is set too high.

If when running and trimmed up, say running 50,if your roster tail is shooting higher than your
engine crowing, then your motor is a little high. Rooster tail should run bout height top engine crowling.

    Matt,
    What boat?
    What motor?
    What JP?
    do you have hydraulic steering?
What is your current prop shaft to pad measurement? (P2P) A good starting point for any rig with big HP motor and JP should be 3 1/2", and adjust from there.
How much seat time do you have on this boat? or big HP bass boat?

Not really, depends largely on boat and lower unit. I run 1-3/8 inch ABOVE the pad.
Op needs to supply boat, motor, lower unit to get useable information.

Not understanding your reply to my post since you are asking for the same information.

BTW, what boat are you running 1 3/8" above pad? sound like allison or bullit

Your statement about 3-1/2 inch starting point. Starting point depends on criteria we both said was necessary plus lower unit info.

Got ya, though most experts would recommend that 3 1/2" starting point for a normal bass hull with factory JP, which normally is in the 6-8" range.
Thank you for clearing, and I hope the OP post the info you and I suggested.

Not particularly important but, it is spelled Bullet if you are talking about the company owned by Mr. Hill.

Dude, I do that so many times these days since my spell check is set to correct as I type. I guess it doesn't do great with names. Oh well

If it wasn't for spell check, I couldn't read my own posts.
