I just got back from florida. Hauled my 14' jon boat there and back, 1120 miles round trip.

3370 or so miles one way from Charleston, SC up to Waubay, SD and on to Santa Rosa, CA. That was this past September. Headed from here in Santa Rosa, CA to Lacrosse, WI and back this August. Then again from here in Santa Rosa, CA down to Shreveport, LA and back in October! If you do your maintenance and check your tire pressure then generally you’re good to go.

820 miles round trip. Got off work, drove to Kentucky to pick up the boat and drove straight back to Georgia. Slept for three hours and went to work. I was worn out but excited to get a new boat, lol

Coast to coast, literally. Havelock, NC to San Diego. Left at 0500 on a Friday and arrived 0800 Monday. Over 2,600 miles, was moving. No problems with truck or trailer luckily.

if you are planning to buy a used boat that far away and tow it back, some advice.

check the tires close for dry rot. Be prepared to put new tires on it before you start back with it. Fiberglass fenders are expensive and a blowout can cost a lot more than a tire.

Further I would want a shop to check, pack, and replace if need be the bearings. If it’s used you don’t know when they were last serviced and for 1200 miles they need to be. When I bought my last used boat some dunderhead had put the wrong brake pads on it. They had rubbed the hub heating it up. Caused me to blow a tire, tear up a fender, and heated and ruined the bearings.

I learned the hard way.
