Switching between Mega Chirp and 455khz

So if switching between Mega Chirp and 455khz eliminates interference with Mega 360 how can we be sure the graph did indeed switch back to Mega Chirp after switching to 455khz? This came up when a reply to my other thread said maybe the reason the interference went away when switching from Mega Chirp to 455khz and then back to Mega Chirp isn't really happening. Interesting!!

I paid for Mega Chirp and want to use it for the detail it gives you. How can we be assured we indeed switched back to Mega Chirp?

I'd like to know the answer to that as well. If I understand correctly regarding the root cause of the issue being that the TM frequency is the same as the HB transducer "mega" frequency, then the only logical answer in my mind that explains why switching from Mega to 455khz and back to mega and RFI being gone, is that it's not really switching back to Mega.

And if it is really switching back, then this RFI issue must be a software issue within the HB unit or something. It will be interesting if anyone else has a different theory or answer to your question.

Don't you see a difference in the image quality between 455 and 1200 kHz?

I haven't been out on the water enough yet to see. Going back out tomorrow and will pay close attention.

You should definitely know if you are getting a 455 image or a Mega image on the 360. There is a marked difference in both image quality and range.
