Does the front deck look extremely short or is it just an illusion

I agree, the deck does look very short. But, I'm hoping it's just due to the fact that it's so insanely wide, so it appears more square than a most boats. If you take into account that the center rod locker can hold 8' rods, it gives a little perspective.

Next year I'm hoping to be in the market for my first brand new rig. It will likely be the last boat I buy. If this boat is as nice as it looks it will be towards the top of the list.

I could certainly live with that in my garage! The front deck does look short, may be just the angle os the photo?

It begs the question: how long does a front deck need to be?

Sat in a Vexus VX21 on Thursday and the front deck on that thing is like a damn aircraft carrier. To me it was way too big. The deck on these MX boats from Crestliner looks huge, almost too wide at the trolling motor pedal. You would need a wide stance to be on the pedal and the edge of the boat for pitching jigs. That said, I would take one for a spin. Looks like a massive amount of storage.

A guy in the club I fish with has the big 21...the thing is a barge...just huge! The 19 should be a good size.

It is great that John Cox is a representative for them!

It is a positive when pros get involved and manufacturers build stuff that people want.

I am glad to see some boats come out with bigger decks on them.

At 6' 7" the decks get small real quick when I step up on them!

The biggest thing I question on the design of this boat is why not take a foot out of the front deck and a foot out of the back deck rather than taking two feet off the front deck? We all know that the further you put weight towards the bow, the more drag you will have reducing speed potential, as well as having a lot more "bounce" in the waves further toward the bow. I gotta imagine in a rough chop with the seating being that far forward, you might feel it a bit.

Preferably long enough for two guys to fish on the front deck comfortably. Not every situation allows a guy to fish efficiently off the back deck

They put out this pic yesterday which gives the best look yet at the layout. The thing is basically a rectangle.

no rod ramp for co-angler and the gas fill is kind of in the way to lay rods there, I think I prefer the layout of my PT18 over the MX series, but it does have 200 ponies pushing it so there is some appeal

The front deck honestly doesn't look long enough to lay a flipping rod on and have the whole thing on the deck

the co angler isn’t the one buying the boat. And that back deck looks cozier to fish off of than any other back deck I’ve ever fished on.
