    U.p. water temps

I'll be in the Iron mountain area next week for a week of smallmouth fishing... anyone up in the u.p. have some insight as far as water temp? Things moving around? Looks like this weekend will be hot up there!

Well Saginaw bay jumped 20* in 2 weeks, saw 79.5* today, so I assume mid 60*s depending upon body of water.

Wow! Huge jump up in temp.
We are hitting Burt/Mullett Lakes this coming weekend and expecting mid 60's and bed fishing.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow... however I think you're probably spot on, water ran from 50 to 65 in Western Minnesota over a very short amount of time

I'm up in the U.P. right now but didn't bring my boat with me (working from the cabin and doing work at the cabin). I am seeing a bunch of fish roaming around right off the dock and caught a couple. Not sure the water temps but they are up shallow and look like they are still pre-spawn.

About 62-64 degrees in the smaller waters down south.
58-60 if you travel north more.
Superior is high 40s to low 50s depending

Burt/Mullett were running low 60s mainly last week but the end of this week and weekend we had a huge cold front move in. Nights in the 30s and days in the low 50s so I'm sure the water temps dropped a bit the last few days.

Water has been between 57-60 depending on lake. Bass haven't been bothered much by the cold front that moved in... have caught them on beds, off points, on transition lines. Tomorrow should be pretty solid for sight fishing. Have caught about 90 fish for the last 2 days

Burt/Mullet water temps dropped to mid 50's and just barely up to 60 during the day with the full sunshine. Frost on the boat in the mornings. Sure made for some tough fishing...

Agreed on the tough fishing. Should get hot this week though with warm stable weather in the forecast.
The MBN High School series was here this weekend. Not sure on day 2 weights but top weight for day 1 was about 27lb with a 7lb-er weighed in I heard.

Western u.p. must just not have been affected as much... we had frost on the boat every morning we were there. Managed around 130 smallies for the 3 days. Not many females though, although caught honestly about 100 3lb males.

Yeah my son and daughter were in the MBN tournaments and it was beyond tough fishing for them. Could see a lot of fish swimming around with no interest in biting.... But some teams found them and knew what to use and what to do. Day 2 was won with 22.25 lbs by one of our school's teams. The biggest fish of the tournament was 7.37 lbs!
