Currently punching a 7’6 Falcon Cara ‘Carolina Cara’ Rod on 50LB Power Pro with an Owner 4/0 flipping hook and 1oz tungsten with a near perfect hook up ratio. Very pleased. I have seemed to go with shorter rods than normal such as a frog, spinner bait, and buzz bait Rod all being 6’10 but have felt like a 7’10 to 8’ may really help me. Any recommendations?
If you are looking for a dedicated punch rod then I would go for an 8' stick. I prefer Dobyns and one of the 805 punch rods would be the ticket. If you want something more versatile I'd go with the Dobyns DX795 which is 7'9" and will handle the 50lb braid w/ 1oz. Sinker perfectly.

ALX Rods ZOLO PowerBolt is a good option. 7'11", XXH, does outstanding at punching and weighs 5.5oz. Very light for that much stick.
I just picked up a Savvy 806 this past weekend. Obviously I haven't had it on the water yet but just playing around with it, I think it's going to do great for punching heavy mats with 2 oz tungsten.
