Besides speed increase, what is the advantage to flashing a 250 to 300??
Thanks, John

you should be able to outrun the other folks that didnt flash theirs.
Does anyone have any additional information on this subject?
John
You can expect a definite increase in everything mid-range. May also benefit from higher rpm and flashing lets the rev limit be changed.
(6400 is common) May have to go up in prop pitch due to increased torque/rpm. Most of all, fuel economy is greatly improved mid-range.

Thank you for the information.

Who is flashing them?
From what little I can tell from my Simon flashed 250SHO and looking at flashed Dyno charts, the HP pretty much peaks at around 5700 rpms. Dont expect for it to spin up well past 6K unless you're running a really short prop. I actually think the factory ECU settings on a 250SHO will pull past 6K easier, but at a lower horsepower rating.
Having said that, HP and torque is increased allowing another couple or three inches of pitch to be used.
Improved low end torque, stronger midrange, and better top end. My hole shot is insane, about a 2 second holeshot with tourney load .
