So Colorado is a little goofy right now. If you are in good health and up for a hike, hit hanging lake.
Can hit the hot springs.
Check out the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs since you'll be down that way for Pikes Peak.
Avoid Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins...basically anywhere on the plains at all costs.
Also, watch out for the roads around Pikes Peak if you're just going for a drive in the hills. If you pass a random gate, TURN AROUND. Had a friend do that once just ripping through canyons...wound up at a gate with about a dozen M4's pointed at him. He somehow wound up on the entrance road to Cheyenne Mountain (NORAD). Oops. He was detained about about 5 hours, they searched him, searched through his car with a fine-toothed comb...And that car was almost empty.
