Pressure Wash Gas Tank and Bilge

Is it ok to use a pressure washer on the gas tank and bilge in my 1998 221? I'm wondering if there could be issues with getting water in the gas. Any tips? Thanks!

I agree with Fred. Spray a degreaser, let soak a few minutes and rinse. Then spray, let soak, nylon brush and rinse. Garden hose is plenty and won't cause unnecessary "blasting". Don't use too much of any detergent, as this can cause future dirt and debris to cling to.

Throw a bar of ivory soap in your bilge. It'll stay nice and clean.

I spray a caustic degreaser on everything and rinse with water hose

put plug in, pour in gallon of degreaser, add a bunch of water
drive around for awhile, pull plug (not at lake) drain
will clean all of lower bilge area

putting a bar of soap or adding the degreaser and water in the bilge and rinsing won't negatively affect the bilge or livewell pumps?

Nope, I did it on mt 201. Haven't had to do it on my 210, it stays clean.
