    Speaking of the new NRX

What are your must have casting models? In other words if you had to give some up which ones would you refuse to part with and what techniques do you use them for? As I'm typing I can't name the models I have off the top of my head but will be getting a new one before too long and would like to know what the "can't live without models" are so I can see what I may not have.

Would you also consider the 873CRR a “must have”?

I do know that I have that one, when I get home I'll have to do inventory to see what I do and don't have. Between casting and spinning my numbers run together.

Interested in the balance question as well!

Had to send in my 1 month old 893c because of a cracked reel seat. Will be replaced with the NRX 893c +

Sounds like it might be time to accidently step on a few rods.

Alright I’ve heard from lots of folks, including this thread, that 893 and 872 are the “if you could only have two” NRX models. Is that still true if we are on a kayak?

So a serial # will keep them from being broken? Please explain. Also thought you said these would not be available till next year.

I would assume the serial number is used to track ownership and warranty claims will probably have to register them now. But that's just a guess.

So in casting I have an 853, 894, and 873 CRR. I have a new GLX 844 MBR so thinking NRX+ 843 MBR or 893. Spinning I have 822 DSR, 822 SYR, and 872 but I need to add a casting model before I get another spinning.

I have used my NRX rods (and Conquests) on my yak fishing river smallmouth for years.

My collection consists of the following: Casting- 852, (2) 853, 854, 893, 873, 894, (just ordered a new 883) Spinning- (2) 852, 822DSR. I also have some Poison Adrenas, Exprides, Zodias, Dobyns and ALX. My plan is to keep to 2 brands..... NRX and ALX. I like the actions of several ALX rods for moving baits. For all else the NRX is king. The NRX rods do require a large up front investment but you're buying the best for life. That warranty on the NRX has a lot of value.

What are your thoughts on the 873CRR as a “do it all rod”? I know the MBR tapers are great for versatility, but what about the 873CRRI have had a 873 and I know it a great bottom contact rod. I’m actually considering getting 2 and using the second one and using it as my all purpose rod for T-rigs, swim jigs, wobble heads, spinnerbaits, underspins, dark sleepers, etc. Am I crazy?
