only 400k of debt for me with the house....... Got 36 years til I can see retirement anyways, think I can get it done by then. CONGRATS ON THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! Not too many understand how to work towards being debt free and banks make it so easy to pass out loans and up credit card amounts

congrats. Debt free for 8 years myself. Its a wonderful feeling. Be thankful you have a partner that is like minded. I know afew couples that have different views on debt. It's a constant battle.
It also builds on itself.....the next time you want to go borrow some money to buy something, you'll think about it for months.

Paid off house is NICE. Ours has been paid of 6 years or so, no house note gives you a TON of flexibility in your budget. We also don't have car notes or boat notes right now so we are pretty fluid with our spending. We don't not buy stuff, we just now can pay cash for it because we don't have $2k or more tied up in house and car payments every month.
