At least he was preoccupied.
I hate snakes!
Crappie and rattlesnake would be a great dinner.
when you see this on the water stop and say hi.

Is that a rattler or a copperbackrattlemosaccin?
That SOB has caught more crappie than I have this year!

Hell of a meal for that guy!
It is a Banded water snake. I laugh cause every snake around water is a cotton mouth / water moccasin a lot of people could be a whole lot less scared if they learned proper snake identification. 99% of the time it is just a water snake.

That's a nice crappie. How does a snake catch a crappie? Amazing.
That's a Moccasin, don't care what ya say. Even if it is one of those banded whatever you call it, to me, it's a Moccasin!
i said looks more like a cottonmouth (instead of rattlesnake) I agree is prob just a water snake .

Without being there I can’t be 100% sure but it doesn’t look like the body of a moccasin. If it is it is on Crack and is poor and skinny as a Racer snake! Check and see if it’s teeth are falling out.
