    High school national championship.

We are headed there for the high school nation championship June 27 - July 3. We will be launching from Green pond. I'm not trying to get any waypoints or anyone's fishing spots. Just curious what stage the fish will be in. I'd love to find offshore (deep) fish but not sure if this is the right time of year. Wanna make this a fun trip for our guys and catch a few fish. Thanks in advance for any ideas!!! Representing Louisiana.

There will be some shallow back of creek fish you can get in the first hour, but after that, you should be on the main water fishing humps, and brush piles. It can be a tough time.

May be a lot of boat traffic towards the weekend, like John says Main lake humps and main lake points. May be some schooling fish just have to be in the right place at the right time.

Don't be afraid of the boat traffic, embrace it. When a boat goes by, many times it runs the herring away from it and up the point or hump, which many times results in a brief bite on top as the spots ambush the herring. You usually have only a few seconds to get your bait on top of the busting fish, but it is a pattern.
