    "remote" charging system options?

Looking to eliminate some space and decrease weight I am thinking of removing onboard charger (which needs to be replaced) and am looking for remote battery charger options. Anyone else do this and does anyone have any chargers they use? If all ele fails I am thinking of getting some quick disconnects (like below) so I can just hookup any marine battery charger to the leads and charge overnight.

I would use better quality connectors. Those are not particularly good at handling current, and in a series series setup the exposed pins will be energized when not plugged in, creating a fire risk. Look at Anderson connectors.

There was a guy in the ranger boat forums that pulled his charger and created longer cables and a quick connect system for it

He seemed to be happy with it

    he explains everything he did

Search "I lost 30 pounds" in the ranger boat forums

A twist connector like your TM uses would allow for a nice bulkhead mount receptacle style connection. Alternatively a pair of automotive remote jump start terminals. If bulkhead style does not suit you a pair of fork lift connectors.

I removed mine completely and used a 7-pin trailer harness to plug it in.
