    agm battery

For those of us who haven't bit the bullet and gone to lithiums and are still using old fashion batteries what do you find to be the best agm for your cranking battery.

The batteries plus battery ( or the same battery labeled by a few other companies) has the highest CCA out there

I'm old, but know nothing about fashion. I have used the Sam's Club size 31 AGM Duracell for 10 years, I'm on my second one, it never let me down, if your motor will tolerate it and it meets the CCA, it may be a good choice at $180, might be on sale for $160.

The 31 series X2/Northstar/Batteries Plus AGM is what I have in my current boat and it's what I'll be getting in my 2022 rig also.

I could care less about gaining a few mph top end with the weight savings of going to lithium and I've been super impressed with the X2 performance in my current rig so I'm sticking with them.

    Good luck

Same here. I feel exactly the same way. I am a non competitive pleasure fisherman, top end speed means nothing to me. I love my Northstar AGM series 31 cranking battery. I run two 12” Solix units a 12” Heilix unit with 360 and never come close to running out of juice.

Just replaced one. It lasted 7 years. Ran electronics, pumps, and accessories as well as starting the engine every time for that time frame.
