Heard about it at the ramp when we got back. Article on WITN is about the only facts i know still. Two boats (1 following another) stuck a stump coming out of river in sound and both motors kicked back up into boats. Pretty bad deal for them from what we were told yesterday. Article says to treated at site, one airlifted, one ambulance. They definitely can use some prayers.

When you come out of Roanoke and head south toward Mackeys, there is a large stump flat in shallow water just off that point. Someone in a Collins tournament hit those stumps last year in a new Ranger and tore his engine off. You need to go into the sound several hundred yards and then turn.

Fishing Roanoke and Chowan, any river for that matter in the NC area, must have in my opinion.

Just hearing details at the ramp had me researching that leash. YouTube videos don’t do it justice and show it working that well. Can you confirm there is no impact to trim or clearance limits on trim once installed? Also - couple guys mentioned it running the motor causing wear. Any feedback on that?

One of the guys said the “gen2” came with some kind of plastic strip that protected the lower cowling where the leash laid on it. I have no idea and have not seen is why I was asking

Mine came with the clear strips. You put them in the location of where the leash touches you engine. Won't wear the paint off.

The leash does not inhibit the movement of the engine. Up-down, or side to side. Peace of mind addition. Especially when I am fishing with my grandsons. Bought mine through Drewcraft. Board sponsor.

Comes with a protective cover to be installed on the lower unit once leash is installed. You want to install first so you know where to locate the protective pad. There is no clearance issues but i know what they are talking about. It is because the installers didn't take into account tilt and most likely installed the leach to low on the jackplate. Once installed and tightened down, the aluminum guides sleeves crush into one another preventing accidental backing out of hardware. Crank should know the boat, he has worked on it twice, to include having the seats reskinned on this BassCat Puma. Hope it helps

I hate to hear about accidents like this, I will be running a TBF Regional out of Pembroke creek this weekend with A lot of guys that have never fished there, I have encouraged them to be extra carful

I sell I lot of the Leashes and been running one myself sense they first came out, they have always come with a protective film except one time when they were out of the material for a while, 2.0 has the adjustable bracket to insure the best fit for your boat.

If you Guys are interested in getting one I have a discount code that will save you a few bucks LEASHDEAL21
