Question Before I order my new setup

I’ll be ordering my setup this week and have just a couple more questions
    (Ultra 106SV with Livescope)

    First
Do you need a 2D transducer or will you get depth with just the Livescope transducer?
Follow-up if I do need one with the Ultrex universal US2 suffice?

    Second

I’ll be mounting it on the Ultrex to see how that does before considering a standalone mount like the livescanner
I’ve noticed all the trolling motor mounted setups the transducer is mounted on the shaft
Is there a reason no one is mounting it on the barrel of the motor?
Is it because it interferes with the SI transducers mounted under the trolling?

Wait can't move the transducer for prospective mode mounted to the barrel right?

Forward and down vu read depth. (Livescope)
    Perspective does not.
2d depth from Ultrex is fine (I think there’s an adapter required?)
Interference is a concern mounted on torpedo.
Correct on no perspective mode mounted on torpedo.

And I see you’re talking to yourself about life jackets in the lounge ?
That’s ok I talk and answer myself all the time .

Can any confirm this is the correct adapter for the Minn Kota US2 xdcr
    (US2 Adapter Cable / MKR-US2-1 - Garmin)

106SV comes with a 8 pin to 12 pin adapter I assume I need that as well

You don't need the adapter. You will get depth from the LS transducer.

Still nice to be able to use the other transducer. Ever notice how the pros always seem to have 2D on somewhere in the boat? Sometimes I even like a second opinion from the LS on what's below the boat.

Like stated in post #2 you’ll need the 2d for depth reading in perspective mode. But I think Mr. MichAngler understood that .

I think that I am correct but I believe you can get 2d and down view from your lvs32 transducer. I'm not sure exactly how good it is but I believe this is correct.
If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

    Thanks for the confirmation!
I've really not played with 2d or down imaging at the bow since I've had Livescope there. Been almost 2-1/2 years now. I see everything that I need to see with Livescope. Others still want and use it. Heck I don't even use the mapping!

Both work. For those of you that fish shallow water, like 30 ft, you may find it useful. I don't much care for it in the deep water I fish. Standard 2d and ClearVu on other transducers do better in deep water.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

I plan to hook up to the built in transducer in my MG Tour Pro. I'll report back on the difference between that and the lvs32.
