    From Mercury:

We apologize for any delays. Demand for our outboard engines has exceeded our expectations, so we have asked your dealer or boat builder to stay in close contact with their sales account representative. They will have a better understanding of your order ETA. Orders are being filled in the order they were placed. Lead times are longer than we want, and we understand this is not an ideal situation. To reduce lead times, we have added capacity, personnel, and additional shifts. We are working to significantly scale our engine production as fast as possible while meeting our strict manufacturing and quality standards. We sincerely appreciate your patience and your dedication to the Mercury Marine brand!

Your dealer or boat builder may contact their internal sales representative here at Mercury Marine to see what the leadtime might look like on your particular engine order. Sorry again for any wait times as we work through the demand!

We know you guys are being put in a bit of a tight spot, and we are working around the clock to get you on the water.

We are running into raw material shortages and shipping delays to get the goods we need to pump out new product. This world we live in at the moment is not an easy one to navigate, with the resin shortages, microchip shortages, suppliers being half-staffed due to C-19, etc. But, we are implementing as many plans and strategies as we can to get the materials we need to keep our lines up to 100% output, and our supply chain team is pressing suppliers to get us more and more each week, so we are increasing production as much as we can. We really appreciate the support and will keep doing everything we can to fulfill these orders as quickly as possible!

In late spring we took a price increase as a result of increases, and they are reviewing another level as prices seem to have increased lately. They indicated yesterday we will have a consumer and dealer statement coming on that topic.
If it comes down to "a boat" being completed but is waiting for let's say, one bow gps unit...will BassCat contact the dealer and ask if the buyer would like the boat as is?

Because, I am pretty sure they would....

It looks like most parts are being acquired with just some delays. Mercury Engines are placed on order over one year in advance and thus we will get what they can release as soon as possible. Yamaha engines have been on order over 6 months now and we have no idea on more than single engine release dates.

Yes, we won’t do that. We want to improve a user experience and that question alone reduces it in the customers minds. We will not do anything other than upgrade parts without asking (no added charge), or request and offer a substitute similar on product.
