    2001 FH 194 JACKPLATE Size

Hey all, I have a 2001 FH 194 and am repowering the motor from a 200efi to a 225 opti and want to install a jackplate, what size setback jack plate are other FH 194 or FH 190 running?

    Thanks,

My FH is a few years older than yours, but I had asked about a jack plate years ago and pat said there would be zero advantage to adding one to my boat. Might be the same for yours

I believe you had an option of a 6 or 8", but you will change the angle, lowering the transoms bit. With my 225 EFI, I rode low enough mounted flat on the back.
I ran a 36v trolling motor, so I had 4 batteries back there as well and a 9.9 Pro kicker.
    I ran both a 23 and 24 Trophy Prop.

As said before, it's not necessary and is more of a hindrance in my mind.

Thank you for the replys gentlemen, I will plan to mount motor direct to transom. One more question for you guy's, would I want a 20" shaft motor or 25" shaft?

20" shaft.... pm your email and I'll send you the B&W Boats article on the hull. As indicated, the 190 and 194 are the same hull, just a different top cap. The article has some technical details..

Roger that! I am going with a 20" shaft mounted direct to transom. Looking at the info for correct motor/pad height ~3.5" starting point, i believe that would put me at the top hole to start (ie: the20" shaft motor would be mounted in the lowest position) any input/recommendation?

I had mine in the 3rd hole. Don’t forget to check the setups charts..
