    Megabass guides

I have a couple Megabass Orochi XX rods with missing guides. Anyone know what guides they use?

Depends on the rod, Fuji KWSG, KH, etc. in Alconite originally which are FWAG I believe. Says so right the guide frame like all the Fuji guides do, and always have.

Use this link and advise what rod model and what guides you are missing. Sometimes we have some guides at the warehouse they can get to you. If not they can tell you size and model of that guide.

Thank you! I submitted a question.

To be honest, the rest of the guides on these rods need to be redone. The finish epoxy is all cracked. The hook keepers ripped off years ago, never to be seen again. The blanks, grips and reel seats are still good though. It'd be nice if the finish on the guides was done a little better. It does not appear to be soaked in to the thread wrapping as I can wiggle a lot of the guides out from under the tread and finish.

Sounds like it's a first gen Orochi XX. When CS replies they will advise on how to proceed.

I believe it is first gen. This is what I'm talking about with the guides. I can slide most of them out easily.

In that first pic on the double foot guide that's a bad wrap. Thread only goes half way up the foot.

First Gen had the cork grips, at least all the 2012-13 ones I played with, with K series Alconite stainless guides. If they used UV finish instead of epoxy the more sun they get the harder the finish gets till it cracks and fails.

They are first gen models for sure. They were introduced in late 2012/early 2013. Gen 2 models were out in 2018. There are obvious appearance difference between the two generations. Only the very first runs of the g1 had hook keepers. There are other changes in g1 while still in production that helps to visually tell timeframe they were made.
