    Ranger pedestal seat?

I have RT178 and pedestal post threads into the base. Anyone know what size are threads on bottom of post? Want to modify an old butt seat pedestal I have. Thanks.

This might not help you because I don't positively know the exact size regarding threads --- but there is a standard size hex nut (I think it is 5/8 standard coarse thread) spot welded to the bottom of my post base. To be sure, you could take the post to Lowe's and get the right size for sure. That's mine.... your's could be different as they change things on some years.

I've taken my post to a hardware store because I wanted a nut so that I could "reform" the stripped threads and I could not find a nut to fit - period. Also, my boat does not have a nut spot welded to the bottom of the seat base. As best I can tell, my threads simply "thread' through a piece of steel. Looks pretty bogus to me and the threads on my front post are badly stripped and don't really grab anything. The rear post still works ok.

I will give that a try, if it doesn’t work I’m not out much. Thanks.
