99 Merc 2.5 ECU Connection Nut Broke

    OG947018

What's the best fix for keeping the ECU plug "SECURELY" connected when the plastic nut finally cracked of old age ???? I've got Ty-Raps on it now, wondering if a piece of hose slid over the connector and 2 hose clamps would be best ?

    This thread/connection....

The ring on my motor has been broken since I got it a few years ago. It has had electrical tape holding it together. What are some possible issues from a loose connection? I suppose electrical tape is not an adequate fix and I should also get on ordering the correct ring.

dropping clys because of no inj operation ,dies at full throttle or no start = loose connection no fuel pump operation , scrored cyl =lean intermittent inj operation, part too cheap to risk blown engine

Thanks Joe. I've been chasing a poor idle issue for a while and God knows I've thrown enough money at more expensive parts. I'll get it on before I run the motor this year.

    Josh- Definitely a wise move.

I should point out that we really do need to keep posts to ONE engine (which helps to avoid confusion and/or what is commonly known as Post Hi-Jacking). See the Announcements at the top of the Forum for information on this and other guidelines.

Nikon Man is pretty cool so it's not a big problem this time.
