Ultrex Power Cutting In and Out

It won’t let me add the video I took. But when my Ultrex is facing left it appears to be cutting in and out of power. But only when it’s pointed left. If I turn the power up to 7 or higher it’s not an issue. Thoughts?

Edit: Here is the link to the video I posted on the BCB Facebook Page. https://www.facebook.com/43804463/vi...2037313419809/

Bring it to an ASC and they should be able to help you.

Voltage test at the board where the power cables terminate while in fault
    Thank You Leon Pugh

That would be assuming they can fix it on the spot. Which is unlikely. I doubt they've ever seen an Ultrex.

That should indicate whether it is a low power issue. Strange that it only does it in one direction. Mine had a similar failure but didn't matter which direction and turned out to be a dead spot in the armature. On land with it deployed, the momentary switch wouldn't spin the prop unless I tapped on the prop with my foot. They had previously replaced the board and GPS and had good voltage at pedal. That didn't fix it until the motor was replaced.

I would pop the cap off of the head and look for a loose, corroded or broken wire. I’ve seen some Fortrex motors with similar symptoms and it was the spade connectors on the power wires in the head.

First, is it still under warrantee ?? IF so, do not do anything !! Take it to the ASC, even if it's 300 miles !! Either way, call the ASC, send him the video and see what he says. Then if it's warrantee, take it in, if it's not and he can tell you what to check and maybe just send that part, if able, to him USPS if it's fixable or order the new part and you install it.

Driving 400 miles tomorrow morning. Leaving at 4am. The guy sees one Ultrex every two years. So its doubtful he has the parts. Which means I will have to drive back to pick it up. Very very frustrating but beyond mailing it to him, I have no other options.

    UPDATE:

Drove over there this morning. Was there for 30 minutes. He thought it might be water in the motor. It wasn't. He thinks its the circuit board in the foot pedal. But since he has never worked on an Ultrex he said he couldn't fix it. Turned around and drove home. I think my options at this point are to order the part and fix it myself or mail the Ultrex back to Minn Kota which based off of UPS website would cost me over $300. Basically, because of where I live I have no MK warranty.
