    LS Max Draw

The Spec's on LS show typical draw of 21 W but 58 W max. What is the occasion of 58Watts! Power up sequence or some special operation? Thanks Bob

I wondered the same thing, that’s a huge spread. I have mine on a 20v DeWalt 6 AH battery so this is an important metric for me.
I have checked mine and it draws 0.1 amp when everything is powered off so I always disconnect the battery when not in use.
Operating, it draws 0.8 to 1.0 amps I assume that is at 20 volts but I did not check the actual voltage across the connections.

So you are saying you get 6 hours on your DeWalt 6 AH drill battery running your black box while running LS?

    How to Calculate Amp Draw

To calculate the amperage draw of a chartplotter or other components, take the maximum wattage (found in the devices installation manual) and divide that by the voltage of the connected battery. Select a device series below to view amp draw calculations:
NOTE: All figures are MAX amp draw. Data may be lower, depending on other circumstances.

Thanks, I get how to figure out amp draw from Watts. It comes out to 1.05 amps. I wanted to see if that is what Bill meant. That is for 21W at 20 Volts. The 58 watts Is what I was trying to account for. Bob

I have 2 - 106sv and a 93sv plus Livescope . the radio and GPS 24XD and all on at same time draws 4 to 4.8 amps really its not a big load on a battery .

Thanks. It sounds if I keep it in the 25 watt range my electronic battery should handle it easily. I will ignore the 58 watt number. Bob

I hooked up two 102 graphs & two gls32 and two LiveScope transducers. One forward, one perspective. The 20v 5 amp dewalt battery lasted about an hour.

Just for reference purposes if anyone is interested.

I think it depends some on the range and depth settings. If you are looking 90 ft deep or 100+ ft away it may use more power.

So there is an actual gain control? With HB they output consistent power, but the sensitivity is used to control the output to the screen. Could this actually approach the 58 Watt max draw figure? Thanks Bob
Part of my plan is to get data 100' out front of the boat for the purpose of adjusting a trolling pass.

Bob. I can't find where I thought I read this. I'll keep looking. Could be wrong. Pretty sure the gain setting is sensitivity, not power. It's worth analyzing what settings or situations would make the difference between typical draw and max draw. Something does.

Thanks. The reason I am curious is it is about triple the typical drain. I would have to redistribute the load if it is the range affecting it. Bob

I fished my first full day with the LiveScope yesterday. I got 5 1/2 hours off the first battery, changed it out and fished the rest of the day, quick and easy. This is working out well for me.

    BTW: I have 20V 6 AH batteries.

Thanks Bill, Sounds like what would be expected for 21Watts at 20 volts! I will figure a bit more for my 13.4 volt Lithum. No problem.

Just the Livescope, my 93sv is powered from a blue sea breaker panel under the console with my other electronics. .
