How about posting a pic of your installation? The line cuts off too cleanly.

I've seen that picture before on mine because the tilt of the transducer was off. Like FE said... those lines are to clean cut. That mode looks like front facing and maybe you have it in down on the transducer itself?

The return looks normal. Looks like something is blocking your beam. Definitely verify installation position of the transducer. Mounting it backwards is a common issue.

The transducer is definitely not mounted backwards, and there are no obstructions in front of the transducer.

A screenshot after re-installing the updates, with Stableview off. This shot was in about ten feet of water.

With Stableview on, the image is as above, with 2/3rds of the screen showing no returns.

Based on that Screen shot...you may very well have a bad transducer. (Lack of bottom return)

After sending the box and transducer for testing, Lowrance replaced both. No explanation. (Yet?)

Turnaround time was 23 days, and it cost me $46 in shipping and insurance. I received an entire new-in-box unit, cables, and hardware, after returning just the module and transducer as instructed.

    Screenshots may follow.

That seems to be a fair remedy but it seems like they should cover shipping if it’s under warranty.
