    Altamaha today

Just moved to Hinesville GA and wanted to do some fishing. I noticed the Altamaha river is very close to me so after I got settled I drove to Jaycee’s Landing to put in. The smell from the factory across the street is very strong and not pleasant. The boat ramp is good and the dock is excellent. I had never been on this river before so I went up river for a few miles and fished a couple spots of slack water in 12’ and again in 6’ of water casting to structure with a spinnerbait. Water temperature was 71-72. I did not catch anything, but saw plenty of fish jumping in the slack water. I’ll try again next weekend.

Try Savannah river too. A few good landings on it.
