    Places to stay

    Any suggestions on a hotel that is clean and safe close to Smallwood State Park ?

    La Plata is safe and not too far away. I'd avoid Waldorf if I were you. I'm sure someone will say something about that. Not sure about hotels in the area as I'm close enough I've never had to use one.

    I used to stay at the Bel Alton Motel, south of La Plata on highway 301. They had a large parking area for boats behind the motel with electrical hook ups. Its been a few years since I've been there and while it wasn't luxury digs the parking was nice and it was safe.

    Super 8 in Indianhead Not the cleanest but do have security during bigger tournaments
