    Paint for skeg

Hey guys, I've got an 06 Yamaha 150vmax and the paint has come off around the skeg. I wanted to repaint it as I'm assuming it's just bare metal (by the greyish colour) and don't want it to rust. Should I use a primer first and then a rustproof paint? What kind of paint should I be using?

First off it won't rust it's aluminum, and yes it needs a special etching primer made for aluminum, and you can use any matching automotive paint.

Good to know. Makes sense that it's aluminum but never had to repaint before. I'll start the search for aluminum etching primer and auto paint. Thanks for the help
