Finally, the dealer has installed GT15 (600 watts) in lieu of GT8 (250 Watt). I’ll try it tomorrow or this weekend

I hope the extra wattage won’t damage the Garmin 8610 XSV du to the extra power draw. What do you think?

no problem at 68 mph. Best way to get old 1 out is with a old lug wrench (L style) put a piece of wood against hull leave just enough room to get lug wrench blade down against the bottom of transducer turn lug wrench it will pop right out. A large flat tip prybar with a pipe wrench will work also .most of the time they pop out on 1st twist ."THE PROFESSOR "Wilson Frazier taught me this years ago.

I have the GT8 also, it works just fine at any speed I've gone so far. But I've only hit about 52-53 so far (dang CO 40mph speed limit)

It works fine! 30 mph, 18 inches wakes and 72 ft. I don't lose bottom anymore! Yes yes! The other transducer was probably defect or wrongly installed!

    YMMV, but that's my experience.
Hi, try it with original shop configuration! Can be surprised! Good luck!

Easily. Great display at 60. No doubt it will read higher but I just haven't opened her up lately.
