For under $100, I think it's hard to beat a BPS Pro Qualifier and you might be able to get 2 when they go on sale.. They aren't the lightest reel around but they are pretty decent reel.

There are numerous reels for under $100 and they all perform about the same out of the box. The real difference is how long they will last, and for that reason I would lean toward a "major manufacturer" like Abu-Garcia, Daiwa, Lews, Quantum, etc. as you may get better long-term service if you have a problem. I will say that most of the "big box" stores will usually replace their own brand reels without asking too many questions. Some of the new "Amazon" brands are nice-looking reels at great prices, and some people would rather pay $50 for a reel, use it for a couple of years, and replace it when it starts to get rough. The point is that most $99 reels are all coming out of the same factories so they look and perform about the same.

I used to have several of these before downsizing last year. They were great inexpensive reels. Never could find parts for them, but they were so cheap I considered them throw aways. Seems I paid under $50 for them.

Daiwa Fuego CT is a great option, and well built at that price point.

@ $129.99 the 2020 Tatula CT TW is a great buy and it also qualifies through the end of May for the free $60 Simms Shirt Promotion at The Tackle Trap!
