    2021 zx200 cavitation issues?

    Hello everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else has a cavitation issue with their sho.
Mine starts around 2000 rpms and is there til about 4000 rpms. Goes away once you go above or below those rpms. Vibrates the steering wheel enough that your hand would go to sleep after 5 mins or so. Factory 23 pitch sho prop.
    Is this normal?

    Thanks,
    Nick

highly doubt that's normal. My hull was on 08 so I can't say for sure with a 2021

Sounds very much like prop out of balance, same as a vehicle...out of balance tire/rim only shows up around "mid-range" speeds, not below or above.

Thanks for the replies. Boat has 3 hrs on it. No stumps. Lol. Prop may be out of balance, didnt think of that. Vibration seems to diminish some the more I drive it , may be that I'm getting used to it or just not staying in the rpm range to feel it. Prop is tight so I dont think it is the thrust washer issue.

I know this doesn't tell much, and there's a lot more to prop balancing, but as a starting point, can you measure from each prop tip to cav plate to see if blades are equal in that respect?? I had a new prop once that did have one blade over 1/8" longer...
