Had a 50lb on a 16.5 Lund rebel. It was ok up to 25km wind. It was simply to small. Upgraded to 24v this year have yet to use it tho.

I'd go 24 volt and as big of a motor as I could afford. You can turn them down, but you can't turn them up to over 100%.

Definitely go 24 volt. Not only will it give you more power if you need it, but you'll also have longer run time with it since you'll be able to run it on lower speeds.
