    Flo-Rite Drain Plugs

I’ve decided it is cheaper to do upgrades on my 2017 Skeeter then it is to buy a 2021. Has anyone installed a drain plug from Flo-Rite? Good experience?

I have installed two in my last two Skeeters. Pretty easy job. The hardest part is getting the nerve to cut that big of a hole in the fiberglass. After some therapy, counseling, You Tube videos, and a glass of scotch I was ready.
Make sure you look for obstructions behind where you cut. Take your time with the hole-saw. Run the hole-saw backwards to start the cut so the gelcoat won't chip.
Use O-ring grease and it will close easier.

I used a cutting board to make the bracket. Mounted to the underside of the lip for the hatch Used Stainless bolts

I put mine where Skeeter installs it from the factory. On my last Skeeter I installed it in the cockpit area.
My preference to have it where I can see it while launching. Just my mental checklist while backing in to look down, especially since it's by the key.
There have been times when I forgot to set it closed and saw it while launching before the bilge filled up.

Does the the flo-rite plug and screws fit into the existing holes once the original plug is removed or does it have to be modified and or re-drilled? Thanks
