    What's this boat worth??

Looking at a 2005 Bass Cat Puma w/ Merc 250XS with about 420 hours. Looks to be in great condition. What is it worth? They want 25K for it.

I would love to say good deal or bad deal but, need alot more information. The biggest are electronics, poles, jackplate, trolling motor. With the additions and/or deletions of these items can vary a price up to 10k.

Good point. It has 2 HB 1199's, 36v Motorguide ( not spotlock, just standard TM ) Detwiler hydraulic jack plate, on board 3 bank charger. hot foot, blinker trim, good towable cover. For us, we'd put an ultrex on and probably go to a 4 bank charger for simplicity.

Don’t forget to look under the bunks for blisters and transom check.

25k is right in line for that model year IMO. Id look hard at a brand new 19fter for about 20k more . 45k brand new with a warranty. If that 15yr old Merc goes your out another 7K at least.

I was thinking 20K would be more reasonable. Thanks for the info.

25K is stiff but in this market it will probably sell for that.

I agree with you, if it's in good shape it will go.

I agree a little high but owner has a grand or 2 built in for negotiations. In today's market he will get close to it.

I would not even consider a 25 offer for my 03, but it is fully updated in all regards, Condition, hours on motor and how it is equipped are the most impotent things to me, I could cared less what year model it is. So 25k could go either way good or bad
    Thank You Leon Pugh

I believe in this market thats a fair price if the boat is in great condition.
In these times you cant ever find a used boat for sale. The BCB Owners (for sale) forum and impact fishing used to blow up with boats for sale. Now there are far and few listed since 2020.

I would get compression checks done on the motor. Have Compressor and belt checked. Make sure Engine trim and Hydraulic Jack plate cylinders are not leaking. I would have the LU oil replaced and water pump impeller replaced, (unless they have records when they were done).

Make sure and check the hydraulic steering system doesn't need bleeding or actuator leaking.

Check to make sure the control panel operates all systems. Live wells. Bilge. Nav lights..etc. Pumps and lights are cheap to replace, the control panel will cost a bit more.

Check the trailer bunk supports for excess rust.

Those are a few things to check when looking at the boat.

Great info. Thank you all. It defiantly is a sellers market. My neighbor & I split a boat for our boys. Thats what this would be. We sold their old 18 footer and did good so I guess its a trade off. LOL

That’s not bad if the boat is in good condition. I saw an 05 P4 sell for 29K last week, but the boat was like brand new condition with updated electronics and very few hours on the motor.
