    55 Hrs...New plugs?

I recently bought a 2012 Stratos with the 150 ProXs; engine has ~55 hrs on it but is 9 yrs old.

Seems to run well but would you replace the plugs and wires at this point; just due to age?
And do they paint the engines with the plugs in them? Because I noticed black overspray on all of the plugs; leading me to believe they are factory.
(Water pump was done last year)

    Thank you

May I ask not wires? In the automotive world we always did plugs and wires together.

Unless the wires are bad they don't need to be replaced same time as plugs, which, in the Optimax should be annually or 100hrs whichever comes first. If the plugs were painted over, they are what the engine shipped with when new and LONG overdue for replacement.

If this were my engine, I'd do everything that falls under "annual or 100hrs" in the topic below NOW because both conditions have long since been met. There are many more helpful topics in the FAQ at top of this forum.

AND... definitely wise to do the water pump ANNUALLY. See the link provided in Post# 4 (above).
