I don't have a 2.3 but I have a 9.9 and love that thing. It super quiet and barely burn any gas. Also own a 40hp and 150hp honda also.
97 Ranger r82 with 05 honda bf150, Helix 10 mega link with 1198c, Ultrex 80. Fish hard and keep hooking.
Good deal! I had read the 2.3 was very loud.

Got the 2.3 in yesterday. Put oil in the gear case and crank case. Filled with gas and choked it. Started on 2nd pull. It is a bit loud but not terrible. Going to put it on the water middle of next week.
