How dangerous is it up river ?
You are talking on the Cape Fear river. You will see many stumps going north. You have to watch the bridges (old us1) I always stay on the left side.

I've been up deep river side 10 yrs ago. To Hwy 1.
But it wasn't my boat.
Never been on the Deep river side. I went Hawl side and went to US1. I was not running hard.

I fish out of Avents ferry once or twice a week. The biggest dangers are the ones you can't see floating just under the surface, and log jams at and around the bridges. The river is down about 2' right now which means there are obstructions that normally are not an issue, but due to the low water levels trees and stumps in the channel can take out a lower unit. Hope this helps
