You can jump from the 36V string as long as you use the one connected to the TM negative wire.

More than likely you have drained the trolling batteries to low to matter.

Had to do this last week in a tournament. Use the battery that your main positive cable is hooked to and go to that same negative terminal. NEVER GO ACROSS MULTIPLE BATTERIES. Gave me the boost I needed to get the big engine fired up and back in business. I will saw after this, I killed all electronics unless I had the big engine running just to be safe. Didnt have any more issues once I fired back up.

    DO NOT DO THIS!

Guaranteed to cause electrolysis and has the potential to apply a dead short across your trolling batteries before the breakers risking explosion or fire.

Catfan I once didn't have enough power in jumper cables to start my optimax, so I took the two jumpers off the 36 v system and paralleled the starting and the closest deep cycle, then took the jumpers to parallel the next deep cycle to the starter. Is that fine?

If you take the jumpers off you are fine.

Same as 36. With jumpers in place, use only the battery with the TM negative connected to it.

Yeah, my answer isn’t clear though. Should have said the serial jumpers removed. Thanks for pointing it out.

Audew Jump Starter 1500 Amp 18000mAh Car Battery Jump Starter with 15W Wireless Charging (Up to 8.5L Gas and 6.5L Diesel)

Bought this, it's really compact and light. I jumped a v8 pickup truck today with it. I got it from Amazon for $74.
It will have a new happy home in my skeeter with the power grabbing humminbird solix's
It will also charge your phone or tablets, charges by USB, I used my c cable from my android phone charger to
charge it up. And it only used 4% of the battery power for that one jump. It has a smart connector that won't let
    you cross up the leads.

As I was reading down, I was thinking if this would help. I keep one in my truck, but will purchase another for the boat. I've even jumped a 1/2 ton military style truck with it.
