Can anyone share some insight as to which applications this rod does well? Headed to to Mexico next month to fish Lake Baccarat for the first time and we are limited to 40 lbs total luggage weight. Planning to take my Tequila Baccarat, Mad Bull, Darl Sleeper and Evoluzion Super Diablo Type L, and would like to add one more super versatile stick to the lineup (preferably with a bit more power). Can the Super Destroyer effectively throw single hook moving baits and/or cranks, or should it be limited to bottom contact and dock-skipping techniques?

If the length doesn't bother you, the Super Destroyer can throw any bait comfortably up to an 1oz I'd say. It excels with plastics and close quarter fishing...but in a pinch this rod can get away with anything. It's got the right tip and taper. I use it for smaller frogs, 1/8-3/8 oz trigs, 3/8 jigs, and 3/8 spinnerbaits personally. Great rod when you're limited on gear.
