Mega 360 out of water message.

The HB rep was checking a 360(NM)/Helix 10 issue with me and he brought up a brand new Helix 12.
The issue is more than likely my Helix unit but on the reps' Helix 12 it said "Mega 360 out of water". We were testing it with a bucket of water (distilled as that was all I had).
He didn't reset defaults or anything as we were just testing it. He also wasn't sure what caused that message as the 360(NM) was in the water.
Any ideas as to why we would get that message? Was it the type of water or the fact that it was in a bucket?

The MEGA 360 has a wet switch that takes water to complete an electrical circuit to turn it on.
Distilled water does not conduct electricity, so that is probably the issue. Some salt added to the water may have given it enough conductivity to short out the wet switch. OR a clean/shiny penny, a piece of copper wire, silver or gold ring, wet rag or paper towel, etc.
I use the copper mesh pads for that purpose, easier to get a connection.
